The Experiences and Perceptions of Neonatal Clinicians When Using a Responsive Bassinet
A retrospective, secondary analysis was conducted using 2021 survey data across 44 hospitals participating in the SNOO donation program. Respondents included 204 clinicians, predominantly neonatal nurses.
- Respondents said SNOO reduces staff stress (95%) and offers staff support in lieu of hospital volunteers (95%).
- Clinicians reported an average time savings of 2.2 hours per shift.
- SNOO was perceived as a driver of positive infant and parent experiences, including enhanced quality of infant care (99%).

A Descriptive Evaluation of Time Savings and Work Experience Among Neonatal Clinicians When Using a Responsive Bassinet
A prospective quantitative descriptive study using an online survey was conducted in 2022 using a convenience sample of neonatal clinicians in the United States. A total of 146 respondents met the eligibility criteria.
- Respondents reported SNOO generated an average time savings of 1.9 hours per shift.
- Most clinicians agreed SNOO provided them with support in their daily work (98%) and decreased stress (97%).
- SNOO decreased interruptions (79%) and gave staff extra time to care for higher acuity patients (70%).
- Respondents reported infants in SNOO stayed asleep longer (80%) and cried less frequently (76%).
