The SNOO Smart Sleeper is designed for babies 0-6 months of age who cannot roll over consistently (meaning they have shown they can roll from stomach to back during sleep on multiple occasions). For premature infants, SNOO can be used up to 6 months of corrected age. SNOO’s advanced algorithm responds automatically to fussing with incrementally increasing levels of sound and motion, often calming babies in under 1 minute. In addition, SNOO keeps sleeping babies positioned on the back. (Infants who are placed in a supine sleep position are at lower risk of SIDS/SUID.)
The SNOO Smart Sleeper system includes:
- SNOO Smart Sleeper bassinet
- Multiple SNOO Sleep Sacks made of 100% organic cotton
- Mattress and water-resistant cover
- A fitted organic cotton mattress sheet
SNOO is the only baby bed given FDA De Novo authorization for keeping sleeping babies safely positioned on the back.
The FDA indications for use is: “The SNOO Smart Sleeper bassinet plus the SNOO Sleep Sack are jointly intended to facilitate a supine position during sleep. Infants who are placed in a supine sleep position are at lower risk of SIDS/SUID. The device is intended for home use by caregivers of infants from birth to 6 months of age, who are not yet able to roll over consistently.”
Infant sleep in SNOO over the first 6 months
As of January 2024, babies have slept safer in SNOO for 600+ million hours. This white paper characterizes sleep in SNOO by analyzing the aggregate, de-identified data of over 200,000 infant SNOO users each month compared to composite infant sleep data derived from infant sleep actigraphy in published literature. The report looks at total night sleep and longest continuous sleep session.

The SNOO Smart Sleeper can be connected to the Happiest Baby mobile app that is available for iOS and Android devices. SNOO users must have access to WiFi to connect their bassinet to the app.
